Next Vocab Class-Test and Speaking Presentations
The next vocab test will be on:
Units 17 - 22 from Academic Vocabulary in Use
and will be held on Monday 12th November in the Advanced Language Class after lunch.
The 2 min Speaking Presentations will be on the subject of 'Teenage Problems' and will take place on Wednesday 14th November in the Advanced Language class in Block 5 (3.25pm).

Advanced Language Exam
This will take place on Monday (5th November) from 11.35 - 12.30 in Room 11.
The Advanced Language lessons will run as normal on Monday morning from 8.45 but you will be given a break before starting the exam and you will also be given an hour to do some final revision.
How to prepare for your Advanced Language Exam:
- review notes made on the exam topic in Wednesday's lesson
- vocabulary from the following units from Academic Vocabulary in Use may come in useful for writing about university:
Unit 17: Applications and Application Forms
Unit 18: College and University: the UK system
Unit 20: Academic Courses
Unit 28: Money and Education
- review past essays / vocab tests / pieces of writing: what are your weaknesses that need to be developed?
- review the grammatical construction of some complex sentences i.e. despite, even though, nevertheless etc.
