Two-Minute Topic Presentations

On Thursday (25th October) of Week 5, each of you will give a super mini-presentation on the theme of urbanisation, that is, cities.

Your presentation will comprise of what you found out while investigating ONE of the following:

- a radio programme from www.bbc.co.uk/radio4
- a newspaper article from a broadsheet newspaper, such as The Guardian www.guardian.co.uk, The Independent www.independent.co.uk or The Telegraph www.telegraph.co.uk.  Please bear in mind that the first two newspapers tend to be more left-wing while the latter generally reflects conservative views.
- a lecture from www.ted.com

Make notes while you read/listen and you may need to read/listen 3 or 4 times until you really get the main points that you will use to describe in your presentation.

Your aim is to inform your audience so make sure you get your points across clearly in order that everyone can understand what you are saying and, ultimately, see why it's interesting!

You have 2 minutes exactly; no more, no less, so it would be a great idea to practice the timing of your talk before you present.

You are allowed a few notes but ideally you will be speaking freely.  It shouldn't be a learned speech but a chance to speak 'on your feet' about what you have learned.
